Arya Bear
Meet the 2021 Alaska Dog Calendar cover dog! Arya Bear (aka Girl to her Instagram followers) is a one year old Brittany Spaniel. In addition to being an Instagram star, Girl is being trained to be a therapy dog and a bird pointing dog. She is such a happy girl and was a joy to photograph.
Arya and I actually had two sessions together thanks to the lovely Covid pandemic. But hey, that’s not the worst thing that could happen! I wanted to get Arya’s session in before my maternity leave and have a winter photo for the cover but once Covid hit, all bets were off! Since we weren’t going to be able to have any winter photos, I decided that a theme of “The Dog Days Of Summer” would be fun! And what Alaskan doesn’t live for the summer?!? So we met a second time to get in a summer session. This is a pretty unique group of images to get to have winter and summer photos from the same year.
It was really fun to get to do two sessions with Arya, she is such a great model! I’m so excited to have her on the cover of the 2021 Alaska Dog Calendar, “The Dog Days of Summer”! Thanks Arya for being such a fun model to work with and for being a part of two photo sessions! You rocked both of them!
