Kila, Zya, Bimmer and Nikon

This pack of four pups is just about as cute as you can get! Kila and Zya are shepherd mixes from a military based rescue in Kuwait and Bimmer and Nikon are Vizslas. All four of them were so impressive with how well they listened to Stephanie. We went out to the Upper South Fork Eagle River Trailhead and explored a bit off trail. What a gorgeous spot! In Anchorage, we have a bits and pieces of the city that are changing colors but that trail in Eagle River has fall in full swing! The berry bushes were this amazing yellow/orange and the fireweed was a perfect red. Those fall colors worked perfectly with these pups and I‘m so glad we took advantage of the season.

You can tell that Stephanie has worked many, many, many hours with Kila, Zya, Nikon and Bimmer, building a relationship with each dog. It was incredible to watch them bounce (especially Nikon and Bimmer!) away from us to explore and as soon as Stephanie called to them “Too far!”, they would turn right back around and head towards us. All four pups were such good models and I loved being able to photograph them.

This session was a perfect end to my Labor Day weekend. It had been a bit of a rough weekend and to have four pups loving on me and licking my face when I fell on the trail was such a huge blessing. Dogs are such amazing animals and I am so thankful that I get to work with them for a job! It honestly doesn’t feel like work and I am so thankful to have this career!

Without any further ado, enjoy these highlights from my photography session with Kila, Zya, Nikon and Bimmer!
