Annabelle and Rufus

Annabelle and Rufus belong to proud mama Elizabeth who splits her time throughout the year between Anchorage and Minnesota running John Hall’s Alaska Cruises and Tours. She was excited this year to be able to travel to Alaska and bring both Rufus and Annabelle with her! Annabelle is quite the traveler and has made her way to Alaska from Minnesota in her own private touring coach. Pretty fantastic way to travel for a pup!

The four of us met up at one of my favorite photo spots in town, Flat Top trailhead. It’s such a gorgeous location and can be pretty empty of other people depending on where you go. Rufus loved being in front of the camera (especially since there were snacks involved!) Annabelle however, was not super excited about her time in the spotlight. Elizabeth had warned me ahead of time that Annabelle turns away from any camera, including iPhones (aren’t dogs incredible??) so she might be a bit of a challenge. I love being able to problem solve, learn what motivates each dog and use that to capture awesome photographs.

We got some really fun pictures of Rufus chasing his ball through the flowers and grass and I love the pictures we got of Annabelle. One of my favorites from the session is a profile shot of Annabelle with the Chugach mountains behind her. Not too shabby! Another one of my favorites from the session is Annabelle and Rufus laying down together on a wooden step. Annabelle is looking at her younger brother like he’s crazy and Elizabeth said it described their relationship perfectly! It’s a good day when you can capture that relationship and expression in a single image.

Elizabeth decided to order a custom album which has become my favorite album that I’ve made to date. She picked the most vibrant leather I offer: a gorgeous teal color that worked so well with the vibrancy of the images we created. Thanks so much Elizabeth for sharing your babies with me and for exploring Flat Top with me!

are you ready to make your pup’s memories last a lifetime?
